In September, the Colorado Department of Public Safety hosted its inaugural Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives Interstate Law Enforcement Collaboration in Ignacio, Colorado, led by Colorado’s Office of the Liaison for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives.
The Office of the Liaison for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives (OMMIR) was established in 2022 through Senate Bill 22-150.
Crisis Response, Behavioral Health & Public Safety Symposium
DENVER- The Division of Criminal Justice, in partnership with the National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA) and Policy Research Associates (PRA) are collaboratively hosting a one day-and-a-half Sequential Intercept Model (SIM) Symposium.
The Division of Criminal Justice, Office for Victims Programs (OVP), houses a number of programs to support victims of crime. The programs include grant funding, largely federally funded by the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), for victim service agencies, support for local victim compensation and Victim Assistance and Law Enforcement (VALE) programs, victim rights compliance, supporting statewide anti-human trafficking efforts, and supporting statewide responses to sexual assault.
The Office of Community Corrections in the Division of Criminal Justice hosted a unique Crisis Intervention Teams (CIT) Training session in June for stakeholders in the community corrections industry supporting Colorado’s community.
The Office of Adult and Juvenile Justice Assistance, within the Division of Criminal Justice, has begun accepting grant applications for the State’s Mission for Assistance in Recruiting and Training (SMART) grant program through April 23, 2024.
The application process for the Colorado Trusted Interoperability Platform (CTIP) program is now open through May 16, 2024.
Colorado is the first in the nation to launch a platform designed to exchange vital data and information between county jails about persons in custody.
