Working Group on Transforming Criminal and Juvenile Justice
The Working Group on Transforming Criminal and Juvenile Justice was created by Governor's Executive Order B 2023 001. It comprised of 17 members, eight of whom are appointed by the Governor and nine who are members by virtue of their agency position.
During its limited session, meetings were held in-person, virtual and public input was encouraged and available for the public to submit in person, virtually or by U.S. postal mail.
The Working Group’s mission shall be to study and make recommendations outlining the structure, location, purpose, and composition of a future permanent, multi-disciplinary, evidenced-based entity or entities with dedicated year-round staff to address matters related to criminal and juvenile justice no later than Friday, March 1, 2024, with the preferred outcome of establishing such an entity(ies) in statute. The Working Group will meet regularly between November 2023 and March 2024 to accomplish the goal of producing these recommendations.
