The Office of Domestic Violence and Sex Offender Management (ODVSOM), within the Division of Criminal Justice, is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of practice for the treatment, evaluation, and supervision of individuals who commit domestic violence and sexual offenses.
Within ODVSOM, there are two Boards: the Domestic Violence Offender Management Board and the Sex Offender Management Board (SOMB). Both work to uphold the highest standards of practice for the treatment, evaluation, and supervision of individuals who commit domestic violence and sexual offenses.
The SOMB is seeking individuals with the following background to join one, or both, of its Committee and Work Group Meetings. In addition to Core members of Community Supervision or Multidisciplinary Treatment Teams, we are seeking the follow:
- Professionals working in the field of Sex Offense management for Adults or Juveniles. This may include:

The SOMB is supported by Committee and Work Group Meetings hosted monthly. The collaboration of these groups is essential to the work of the Board in meeting the statutory mandates. These Committees are made up of professionals and stakeholders with a diverse professional background dedicated to the improvement of Research and Evidence-Based Practices.
The Adult Standards Revisions Committee is responsible for all revisions to the Standards and Guidelines for the Assessment, Evaluation, Treatment, and Behavioral Monitoring of Adult Sex Offenders. This Committee reviews the most recent research and evidence-based practices in the field and then ensures those are reflected within the Standards.
This Committee meets on the third Thursday of every month from 9 to 11 a.m.
The SOMB Best Practices Committee is statutorily mandated, and required to be made up of at least 80% treatment providers. This Committee not only reviews all standards revisions proposed by both the Adult and Juvenile Standards Revisions Committees, but they also discuss hot topics within the field. This Committee is responsible for reviewing information and issues, the creation of workgroups, publications, and other relevant policy work.
This Committee meets on the second Tuesday of every month from 9 to11 a.m.
SOMB Committee meetings, are either hybrid or virtual, contribute to:
