The Office of Research and Statistics (ORS) conducts ongoing data collection from entities across Colorado pursuant to a variety of statutory mandates. Jail Data
Data is collected from county jails regarding facility and inmate statistics. Links and information are provided to report jail data and to report restrictive housing data.
Jail Bond Compliance
Data is collected from sheriff offices regarding the display and dissemination of legal rights information related to posting bond and bond complaint processes.
Contacts & Use of Force
Data is collected from law enforcement agencies on contacts, use of force, unannounced entry, police involved deaths, and police officer resignations. A link is provided to the data reporting form.
Criminal Justice Contacts with Students
Data is collected from law enforcement agencies and district attorneys on contacts with students (arrests, summons, or tickets) related to school property or events. Links are provided to spreadsheet templates to submit data.
Death in Custody
Data is collected from any law enforcement or correctional agency where the death of an individual occurs while under their jurisdiction (detained, arrested, en route to incarceration or is incarcerated).
U-Visa
Data is collected from any agency that certifies U-Visas (Issued to noncitizens who are victims of crime and who assist law enforcement in the investigation of criminal activity).
