Background and Due Dates

The Jail Data mandates in 24-33.5-118 and 17-26-118, C.R.S., were derived from the following bills:

House Bill 2019-1297 enacted on May 31, 2019, requires county jails to collect information regarding their facility and inmates and report this information to the Division of Criminal Justice (DCJ) on a quarterly basis. [facility and inmate data]

House Bill 2021-1211 requires jails with bed counts over 400 to report on their use of restrictive housing. [restrictive housing]

Data submissions are due the third Friday of the first month of each quarter (January, April, July, and October).
