What is the intended use of the General Funds?

These general funds were allocated through Colorado Senate bill 22-183 which appropriated general fund dollars into the newly created Crime Victim Services Fund to support agencies providing direct services to victims of crime.  Direct services include, but are not limited to:

  • Crisis intervention
  • Emergency services
  • Counseling
  • Legal advocacy
  • Criminal justice and court support
  • Training and coordination of volunteers who provide direct services to crime victims

Is my agency Eligible?

For purposes of Senate Bill 21-292,  both system based and non-profit agencies that were supporting victims of crime were eligible to apply for the funds.

When were the funds awarded?

The general funds were a one time allocation to the Division of Criminal Justice, Office for Victims Program.  

The Crime Victim Services Advisory Board made the funding recommendations to the Director of the Division of Criminal Justice and the Executive Director of the Department of Public Safety.

Are there additional Requirements?

Grant recipients are required to comply with all state and local guidelines, including completing a quarterly report and demographic data for the victims served.
