(July 1, 2021) - As of July 1, 2021, the Evidence-based Practices Implementation for Capacity (EPIC) Resources Center has closed.
The Evidence-Based Practices Implementation for Capacity (EPIC) Resource Center was created by the Colorado Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice (CCJJ) in 2009 to implement evidence-based practices in the criminal justice system.
EPIC followed the principles of Implementation Science. This approach provided guidance to implement evidence-based innovations in a way that built skills in an effective, sustainable way to facilitate system change in the criminal justice system in Colorado. EPIC's implementation processes utilized training, coaching, and feedback from taped and live interviews as well as regular ongoing practice sessions to help clients build skills that encouraged their incorporation into their day-to-day job duties.
Too often, clients attend training where skills acquisition is confined to the classroom setting. In the typical training atmosphere, there is little follow-up subsequent to the classroom training experience. Without follow-up, training clients often leave training and quickly revert to previous practices and habits. The EPIC team provided this essential follow-up by conducting in-person skills training in the client's own work environment, along with practice sessions to build new skills that were relevant to each work environment.

All recorded videos on the EPIC Online Learning Center will remain online until July 1, 2022.
