Karen Morgenthaler

Karen Morgenthaler, LCSW LAC, Executive Director, Gateway to Success. Karen Morgenthaler has over 15 years of experience in behavioral health services. She is the founder and Executive Director of Gateway to Success, a behavioral health organization. She divides her time between direct service, healthcare management, state-level committees, and clinical supervision. She is a Member of the Domestic Violence Offender Management Board representing Domestic Violence Providers/Mental Health Professionals and the Chair of the Application Review Committee since 1/2018.  She is a governor-appointed member of the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) since 1/2020.  She earned her Certified Addictions Counselor in 2008; later earned her Master’s degree in social work through Newman University in 2009. She holds a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), and is a DVOMB Clinical Supervisor. Karen has been a part of MTT as a DV Provider and Supervisor since the current Standards came into effect in 2010.  Her educational background, years of experience, and commitment to the field have contributed to developing a robust multidisciplinary team that serves three counties.  Her passion is focused on navigating systems of care and linking individuals to services to help them through rehabilitation to reduce recidivism and increase victim safety.

Michelle Hunter

Michelle Hunter is currently the Vice-Chair of the Domestic Violence Offender Management Board and the Co-Chair of the Application Review Committee.  She currently represents the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) and works with the Division of Adult Parole as a Community Parole Team Leader supervising offenders with sexual convictions.  Michelle has been with the CDOC-Parole for approximately 15 years and has worked in the Criminal Justice system for 25 years, including juvenile corrections, private probation, DUI probation, and background investigations. 

Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from the Metropolitan State University of Denver. Additionally, she has a Master of Arts in Forensic Psychology from Marymount University and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Colorado State University-Global Campus.

Sandra Campanella

Sandra Campanella has been in law enforcement since 2003.  She worked for the Longmont Police Department until November 2020 when she accepted a position as a domestic violence investigator for the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office, 20th Judicial District.  She is currently assigned to the DV Acute Response Team with Boulder County DDA Anne Kelly and DDA Alison Brand.  She began her law enforcement career as a patrol officer, then spent almost four years working as a School Resource Officer in two Longmont Middle Schools.  Investigator Campanella served as a detective assigned to the Longmont PD Domestic Violence Unit from 2010-to 2020. 


In 2011, Investigator Campanella was selected for the Beth Haynes Award, which is an honor bestowed by the Boulder County Domestic Violence Task Force for officers who demonstrate a clear knowledge of DV, service to victims of DV, and engage in community collaboration to ensure victims are accessing all possible resources.  In 2019, Investigator Campanella received the Beth Haynes Special Recognition Award for exceptional service to victims of domestic violence.  She also received the Rink Blake Award in 2006 for demonstrating compassion and skills for those less fortunate at Colorado Crisis Intervention training.  In 2020, Longmont PD honored Investigator Campanella with the Lifesaving Award for her work in domestic violence.   
Investigator Campanella testifies as an expert witness in Domestic Violence trials and participates as an instructor on the multidisciplinary team with the Ending Violence Against Women project.  She also presents guest lectures on domestic violence at CSU, CU, DU, Front Range Community College, and other community organizations. Investigator Campanella was recently appointed to serve on the Colorado Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board.

Jennifer Parker

Jennifer began her career through education, and voluntary efforts focused on fulfilling the holistic needs of children, adolescents, adults, and families. Her expansive counseling services attest to her devotion to understanding and encouraging the human process. Having over 25 years of combined experience as a mental health therapist and bodyworker, Jennifer understands that everyone is unique and therapy should be individualized and tailored to each person’s life experiences. Jennifer has experience providing group, family, couples, and individual therapy.  She has worked with juveniles and adults who have been sexually offended, intimate partner abuse and dating violence, individuals with substance abuse and sexual addictions, and those with severe and persistent mental illness.  Jennifer is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS), Full Operating Domestic Violence Treatment Provider and Evaluator, Child and Family Investigator (CFI) and Parental Responsibility Evaluator (PRE), and Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT).  Jennifer has specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Trauma Touch Therapy (TTT), Trauma Informed Yoga, Reiki, Child Play Therapy, Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate (CSAT), Prepare and Enrich Facilitator for Couples, and Acudetox. Jennifer divides her time between full-time work as a Program Manager for a nonprofit homeless program, part-time as a Lead Behavioral Health Clinician for hospital emergency departments, and private practice. Jennifer has been a Board Member of the DVOMB since 2018, a member of the Application Review Committee, and Chair of the Equity, Inclusion, and Diversity Committee.

Erin Gazelka

Erin Gazelka is a contract forensic therapist, clinician, and supervisor at Correctional Psychology Associates (CPA) in Denver, Colorado. She has practiced as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since June 2012 and Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC) since March 2014. She was listed as a full operating-level DVOMB Approved Provider in June 2019. She has been a member of the DVOMB since March 2019, representing Mental Health Professionals and Domestic Violence Providers. She received her Master of Arts degree in Forensic Clinical Psychology from the University of Denver's Graduate School of Professional Psychology in 2009. She also received her Juris Doctorate from William Mitchell College of Law in 2007.

Melissa Hall

Melissa has been married for 23 years and has two amazing sons. She was raised in Colorado and briefly left for a semester for college but was happy to return. Melissa is a probation officer who supervises sex offenders, domestic violence offenders, and drug court. She has supervised the domestic violence case load for the past eight years. Melissa is also a Full Operating Level Approved Provider and Certified Addiction Specialist. She is working on a second master’s degree in clinical counseling and has a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, emphasizing Law Enforcement Administration. When she is not busy at work or studying, she enjoys running and biking, cheering for her youngest at different sporting events, gardening, and going on different adventures with her husband.

Jeannine Anderson

Jeannine is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor with over a decade of experience working with adults and adolescents. She currently serves as Southeast Counseling Center’s Forensic and Group Services Manager. Jeannine’s training includes specialization in working with couples, trauma (EMDR), and substance abuse, in addition to general mental health concerns, including anxiety and depression. While serving as a clinical supervisor in the forensic realm for many years, Jeannine has a depth of knowledge in assisting clients who are involved both past and present in the criminal justice system through court-ordered treatment, victims of violence or crime, and first responders. Jeannine was a coordinator of an intensive outpatient program (IOP) for adolescents earlier in her career and enjoys working with adolescents as they navigate developmental challenges. Jeannine places an emphasis on collaborating with clients to provide practical tools in an effective manner as well as a safe place to work through deeper issues.
