Below you will find registration links for these risk assessment trainings online. Once we receive a significant number of interested providers, we will work on details for the training such as date and time.
Keep in mind- these are engaging, hands-on online trainings for SOMB approved treatment providers, evaluators, polygraph examiners, and supervision officers. Space is limited.
VASOR-2/SOTIPS Booster Training
Addressing criminogenic needs is critical for risk and recidivism reduction. The VASOR-2 and SOTIPS risk assessments help clinicians and community supervision professionals identify a client’s criminogenic needs when working with an adult sex offender caseload, which will then inform the client’s supervision and treatment. In this course, learners will review static and dynamic risk factors as they relate to sexual recidivism. Using the VASOR-2 and SOTIPS, learners who have previously taken the introduction to the VASOR-2 and SOTIPS training will enhance their skills by scoring additional case studies to interpret risk levels. Learners will gain deeper insight into the scoring of the assessments and how to interpret risk levels to maximize their case and treatment planning with a focus on risk reduction and enhancing protective factors.
This is an interactive training and space is extremely limited. You must strictly adhere to the ODVSOM Training Conduct Policy if you plan to attend.
This training was designed for approved treatment providers, evaluators, probation or parole officers who have taken the VASOR/SOTIPS training previously and have been actively using the tools.

J-SOAP-II Training
The Juvenile Sex Offender Assessment Protocol-II (J-SOAP-II) is a checklist to aid in the systematic review of risk factors that have been identified in the professional literature as being associated with sexual and criminal offending. It is designed to be used with boys in the age range of 12 to 18 who have been adjudicated for sexual offenses, as well as non-adjudicated youth with a history of sexually coercive behavior.
This workshop will review sexual development and offending among adolescents. Effective interventions will be discussed both in the framework of risk-need-responsivity as well as typologies.
Treatment providers, evaluators, and supervising officers will learn how to accurately score the J-SOAP-II and how to use the information in treatment and case planning.
