The Track It system is a sexual assault exam tracking system which allows sexual assault victims, SAFE/medical providers, law enforcement, and forensic labs to locate forensic nurse exam (FNE) medical records. This system only includes SAFE kits created on and after July 1, 2025. For information on SAFE kits created on and before June 30, 2025, visit the Colorado Bureau of Investigations Eliminating the Backlog website.

Resources for Survivors

Colorado has a robust network of rape crisis centers across the state that are available to support sexual assault survivors. These centers provide free, confidential services and referrals for sexual assault survivors and their family and friends. For more information on the rights and options available to you after a sexual assault experience in the State of Colorado, please visit Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assaults website, www.youhavetherightco.org.

Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault

The Colorado Coalition Against Sexual Assault (CCASA) was founded in 1984 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit to be the collective voice of rape crisis advocates across the state of Colorado.

Sexual Assault Victim Emergency Payment Program (SAVE)

The Office for Victims Programs (OVP) provides resources to assist hospitals, communities, and sexual assault victims. Our office works with agency partners to improve outcomes for adult victims of sexual assault. Current efforts include the Sexual Assault Victim Emergency Fund Program (SAVE); the Forensic Compliance Team (FCT); and the Colorado Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner/Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner Project. For more information, visit the SAVE Program webpage.

Native American Resources

CCASA has created a resource library for Native Americans that is going to highlight and grow pathways for our Native and Indigenous survivors and communities to providers and resources that are culturally specific to their needs as their voices define them to be. These are resources set apart from other resource mapping in that these are resources that honor the beautiful complexity that is Native and Indigenous survivorship and resiliency. Resources will be added that become ready to walk with survivors in their healing journey home, wherever that place may be, however that journey is created; this is a resource that can assist in those first steps along the way.

Crime Victim Compensation

Colorado’s Crime Victim Compensation law 24-4.1-100 created 22 different Crime Victim Compensation (CVC) programs that are in each judicial district across the state. The monies for victim compensation programs come from fines that the court orders paid for convictions of felony, misdemeanor and some traffic offenses. Each CVC program follows the Victim Compensation law and state victim compensation program standards.  For more information about Crime Victim Compensation, please visit our Crime Victim Compensation webpage.

Victim Rights Act

The Victim Rights Act (VRA) in Colorado ensures that crime victims are treated with fairness, respect, dignity and that they are free from intimidation, harassment, and abuse. The VRA also helps to ensure that victims are informed of critical stages of the criminal justice process and that they may be present for, and heard, at certain stages as well. For more information, please visit our Victim Rights Act webpage.
