Body Worn Camera Funding

Total Funding

Over $5 MILLION has been awarded to close to 100 law enforcement agencies across Colorado.

2,885 body-worn cameras were requested by law enforcement agencies. 100% of these requests will all be funded at $1,100 each for a total of $3,173,500.

The remaining $2,826,500 was divided equally among the law enforcement agencies that requested funding to purchase body-worn camera accessories.

All those who submitted an intent to apply application will qualify to receive a minimum of $25,695.45.

Intent to apply - Closed September 10, 2021

To help us identify the anticipated need and develop our funding allocation formula, law enforcement agencies submitted intent to apply for these funds. This is the first step in the process as was due September 10, 2021.

Thank you to every law enforcement agency that took the time to complete the intent to apply.  This helps the Division of Criminal Justice plan for the body-worn camera needs of law enforcement agencies.  Notification of awards should occur by September 17, 2021.
