OVP: Crime Victim Services Advisory Board

The Crime Victim Services Advisory Board is a 28-member board appointed by the Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Public Safety. The Board acts in an advisory capacity to the Department and the Division of Criminal Justice in making grant funding recommendations.

The Board has two statutory subcommittees:

  • The Victim Rights Act Subcommittee reviews reports of noncompliance with the Victim Rights Act 
  • The Standards Subcommittee makes recommendations to the full Board regarding revisions to, and compliance with, the Victim Compensation and Local Victim Assistance and Law Enforcement (Local VALE) Standards.

Applications Currently Being Accepted!

The Crime Victim Services Advisory Board is seeking applications for several openings.  New terms will begin on January 1, 2025.  We are looking for a diverse group of applicants and will also take into consideration geographical representation on the Board.  

The following positions are open: 

  • Local VALE Board Member Representative
  • Ute Mountain Ute Tribal Member Representative
  • Southern Ute Tribal Member Representative
  • Sheriff or Sheriff's Representative
  • Statewide Expert in Victim Issues & Services Representative

The Crime Victim Services Advisory Board Terms are for three (3) years and are appointed by the Executive Director of the Department of Public Safety.
